Los Angeles, CA (July 18th, 2024) – Rising Puerto Rican artist, Moffa, releases debut album Playground via SONAR. With 10 new songs, Moffa showcases his melodious voice, witty lyrics, and dynamic sound. His charisma shines bright as he experiments with genres like R&B, reggaeton, pop, and afrobeat, bringing a new world to each song.
“Playground represents a new chapter in my career, it plays with sounds that are not common within the urban genre, moving towards a more alternative vibe. Through the lyrics, the album tells a story of the different stages of love, with inspiration from the world around me. Creating this project was one of many challenges and long hours, and it wouldn't be possible without the incredible team that gave it life,” shares Moffa.
The focus track, “Bluedream” is accompanied by a nostalgic video, directed by Miguel Storer in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The visuals tell the story of Moffa’s first experience with love. He wanted to capture the vivid memory of the quintessential afternoon at the pool with his friends as he discovered what having a crush felt like. “That excitement is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I wanted to try and bottle that feeling up within the song and use the visuals to recreate a pivotal moment in my life,” added Moffa.
Recently, Moffa made his Grammys Press Play debut with an acoustic performance of his single “Llorando en Chanel.” In March, he debuted at SXSW, receiving high praise from packed crowds at the FAMA showcase and the official SXSW Closing Party. Earlier this year, Moffa scored a spot on the Rolling Stone’s “19 Latin Artists We’re Rooting For in 2024” list and released an Acoustic Live Session including singles “Bentley (Remix),” “saluDARTE,” and “TOKO.” His collaborations and co-signs by artists such as Karol G, Manuel Turizo, and Ñengo Flow indicate that Moffa is poised to become a global artist.
Coming up, Moffa will be performing at two Playground Album Release Events. The first takes place on July 19th in Puerto Rico at La Factoria followed by the Miami event on August 17 at Savagelabs. Plus, catch Moffa at the Juguito China showcase presented by Guerrera PR & Mishu Music in Puerto Rico on July 23rd at La Respuesta, tickets here! More news from Moffa coming soon!

Playground Track x Track by Moffa
"¿Quien Soy?"
“This song asks who I am, beyond being José Feliciano López. I've always seen album intros as a moment of 'I'm here.' So for this album, I wanted people to listen to the intro and go on a jaw-dropping journey. It has a beat that continues to grow until the end and suddenly disappears as if to say 'you've arrived at the Playground, I hope you're ready.’”
"Bluedream"
“'Bluedream' sets the scene where I fell in love for the first time. It is a memory I will never forget, and I still feel like it was love at first sight. The name Bluedream represents the person I fell in love with, and if she remembers me, I hope she hits me up.”
“Vitality”
“I had a lot of fun creating this track. The truth is, I wanted to make a club banger, the kind that you play and immediately feel like the king of the world. It's a song that could easily be the soundtrack to a night out with your friends while you’re having a good time and doing whatever you want.”
“Sussy” ft. Manuel Turizo & Ñengo Flow
“I wanted to bring together two entirely different worlds for this song, and I am super happy that they are artists I have admired for a long time. We started making this song in the studio with Manuel, and we knew it would be one for the books, but it needed an old-school perreo vibe, and who better to bring that than the legend Ñengo Flow. Working with both is like winning a trophy and entering legend mode as an artist.”
“Raitrú”
“It’s a song that picks up the essence of the type of music I grew up with, hip-hop and R&B, and is dedicated to the people who have stuck by me since the beginning. I loved making this song and working with my friends, Martino and Hokage, always reassures me that we have another hit in our hands.”
“Llorando En Chanel”
“This track gave me the power to experiment with hip-hop, a new genre for me, and we gave it an old school touch with hints of R&B. The song revolves around a love triangle where the third person is trying to show the woman that he is who is going to treat her better. It’s one of those young love situations that many of us have gone through.”
“Sextape”
“‘Sextape’ mixes little bit of hip-hop, pop, and trap, and when we finished it, we knew it would be a perfect song for the album. If it were up to me, I would continue adding tracks, so I am super happy that this song made it to the final tracklist.”
“B&G” Ft Robi
“B&G is a song that represents the vulnerable side of a person when they find out that their significant other is cheating on them, so they want to give them the same treatment. Robi was a key piece in the song, he is one of my closest friends, and we have a unique chemistry when making music together.”
“Porcelana”
“This was one of the first tracks made for the album. ‘Porcelana’ is about that last time, when you know that something is ending, and I’d like to take something with me, so I never forget what we shared.”
“José Feliciano”
“The voices at the end of this song are from my parents talking to me when I was little. It is the most sentimental song on the album and every time I listen to it, I cry because time passes so quickly, and it is special to remember what you have experienced. A huge thank you to my family, who have sacrificed a lot so that I can achieve my dreams.”
